Sharon VanderwolfAbout the Artist
Sharon has shown an interest in painting at a young age, and went on to develop her art by learning new techniques, reading, attending workshops and has an ongoing self-tutelage in honing her skills. While she strives to represent her artwork in a realistic fashion, she always aims to express with a fusion of vibrant colors with the texture of acrylic and oil paints. Focus in on landscape, seascape, wildlife and floral artwork. Her work shows a connection between the land and those who inhabit it. She is a member of several artist organizations and she exhibits at various venues in Alberta. Her favorite part of painting is the end result and how it makes others feel. |
Hilde KellerAbout the Artist
Hilde was born in Germany and immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1974, where they purchased a farm in rural Alberta. From the beginning, Hilde was fascinated with the ever changing sky and expansive, richly colored landscape. Living and working on the farm gave Hilde an intimate understanding of the weather the land and the seasons. Whether it was watching the clouds turn from white and fluffy to dark and heavy with rain or the land change from brown to green to gold to white, Hilde found beauty in each day. Largely self-taught, Hilde has also taken numerous workshop and classes. Rocky mountains, west coast of Canada, and Taiwan landscapes provide Hilde with a way to express her appreciation and beauty of what she sees. |
Patricia KowalikAbout the Artist
Patricia has been a member since it started and is secretary of the Sangudo Art Club. She first realized she had an interest in art work when as a student in grade six she entered a picture she had drawn and colored in an Alberta Wide Art contest and received a second place ribbon for her master piece. Pat then went on to become very interested in crafts and has taught many lessons in wreath making, flower making and flower arranging. She then took several different courses: one being with the late Mrs. Snowden. Pat has painted for 30 years and has taught private painting lessons. One of her students just held her own workshop. Pat still continues to show her work and shares her inspiration with others. She has been fortunate enough to sell many of her paintings, which really makes it much more fun. Pat is open to all new students who would like to receive lessons. You don't have to be a great artist right from the start. Happy Painting! |

Brenda BoonAbout the Artist
Brenda is the president of the Sangudo Art club. Brenda has been interested in art since a teen. She was introduced to multimedia plus sculpting in college. In the late 70's, the county had oil painting classes under the tutelage of Mrs. Snowden. She started oil painting at this time. Unfortunately, work got in the way and painting was sidelined. A few years ago, the Mayerthorpe library offered painting workshops. It was here that she was inspired by Deanne Jackson. She attended some paint days with Jacquie Paul. Finally, with retirement came the time to pursue art. She joined the Sangudo Art Club. She found the group to be very supportive in her endeavors. Her artistic goals are to have an enjoyable time. |
