The Sangudo Art Club is a very small group located in Sangudo. We are a group of approximately eleven artists who meet on Thursdays to realize their hidden talents creating works of art. The club has been operating since 1982. We have different art shows over the year. Each year, members have the opportunity to display their work at local art shows around the area. Some of the projects the club has done are: painting outside of the Elks Hall and the mural for the Sangudo Community School. All the art work around town had been done by the club volunteers. Members are free to pursue their personal choice of mediums, type of board, canvas or paper and items of interest to draw or paint.
Thank you so much to Lac Ste. Anne County's Recreation Facility & Program Assistance Grant and for your continued support to the Sangudo Art Club this past year. It was much appreciated, all this helps offset the operational costs of the club with advertising community projects, workshops and hiring instructors. The members and guests in the community gain valuable insight from the workshops, learn new techniques and improve on skills they already have.
The Sangudo Art Club fulfills and enhances the artistic outlet in the community. Our aim is to provide workshops once a month using various mediums to anyone interested in learning how to begin and continue their artistic learning. We hire an instructor once a month for our workshops to help teach something new or improve techniques. We advertise our workshops in The Keep-Me, The Community Voice and The Rig Radio Station 96.7, plus with word of mouth.
